Oriental Cockroach
– these species are dark brown to black in color, and about one inch in length. They ar
e tolerant of cooler conditions, and like to live in spaces between soil and buildings, water meters, under stoops and sidewalks and lFort Myers landscape mulch.
American Cockroach
– these are the largest cockroach in Florida up to two inches long. Adults are reddish brown in color and prefer warm, moist habitats. Indoors they can be found in Fort Myers kitchens, bathrooms, while outside they prefer leaf litter and flowerbeds. 
German Cockroach
– most common household cockroach, 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch long and have yellowish – brown bodies. The have to dark strips on the head that run from front to back. They are abundant in places where there is food & water such as kitchens and bathrooms.
